About Me
Donovan earned his veterinary degree at the University of Antananarivo and first honed his skills trekking to remote villages with the Mad Dog Initiative’s mobile teams, where he led rabies-vaccination, deworming, spay-neuter, nutrition, and diagnostic campaigns throughout the Andasibe–Mantadia region. He deepened his lemur-care expertise during the Lemur Conservation Foundation’s intensive three-month husbandry internship, critical training that coincided with a surge in illegal pet lemurs across Madagascar.
Today, Donovan co-directs TDARFAC’s women-and-children health programs in forest-edge communities, guiding construction of a new Women & Children’s Health-Education Clinic in Andasifahadimy alongside local partners. He also manages graduate and veterinary student volunteers and mentors Association Mitsinjo’s youth conservation club, Ankizy’ny Ala (“Children of the Forest”), linking One Health principles to grassroots outreach.
Within LPF, Donovan designs veterinary protocols for rescued lemurs and will lead release and post-release monitoring, while serving as the vital bridge between local leaders, NGOs, and the families who share Madagascar’s forests with its most iconic primates.
